I dont know, the whole Deli thing made me start browsing your profile.. i mostly skipped over the music videos, but I liked many of the quotes you have, and some of the things you’ve written.. what won me over was the whole: you studied econ and poli sci, but you’re a designer, etc.. artistic, yet smart must make for an interesting blog, so… why not?

ok, so just finished a get-together with an ex high school friend from Dominican Republic visiting from college in Miami… and I thought, what better thing to do than to “Tumblr”?!
I really have nothing interesting to say, so I thought of improvising..
On around April last year I visited the MET for a school project, and I today just found the pictures on a memory card…
Long story short, I want to show you this painting by Chuck Close called “Lucas” drawn around 1986-87 (Oil and Pencil on Canvas) that I really liked.
He is what google (and the world) calls a “photorealist”, which means he makes paintings from photographs.
I loved this painting because it is made up of thousands of little squares, which in theselves are like mini-paintings. No two squares are alike. Up there you see a picture and a little close up of a tiny portion of the painting.
I dont know, I really really liked it. And on that subject, on the same trip, I saw a painting by Salvador Dali called “Madonna” which reminded me a lot of “Lucas” by the way it was painted. Up there there is the full anf close up..
Does anyone know how to upload pictures to the “text” you are writing? I didnt know how and had to put them all up there at the top…

Today is March 15th, and many many years ago Julius Caesar was stabbed and killed by some of the Roman senators. After Shakespeare’s play, the quote “Beware the ides of March.” has become quite popular.
Anyways, just wanted to share a fact I found online so I can sound smart if the topic arises today—and now you can too.
Before the “ides of March” became infamous, it was just the common way to say the 15th of March (and of May, and July, and October). According to the infoplease website, the first Roman calendar divided each month into three parts:
the 1st day of all months >KALENDS;
the 5th in all months (except March, May, July and Oct. in which it was the 7th) >NONES;
AND the 13th in all months (except March, May, July and Oct. in which it was the 15th) > IDES.
So how it works was, today we say it is the ides of March (3/15); yesterday was Pridie Ides (3/14: the day before the Ides); tomorrow is Ante Diem XVII Kalends (3/16: because the Kalends of April is 17 days away); and so on.
Simple enough right?

Its 3:55 am, and I’ve decided to open a tumblr.
Due to daylights saving, my body feels like its actually 2:50 am. So after hours tossing and turning in bed, for some reason, creating a Tumblr seemed like a good idea. Who knows, tomorrow when I wake I might erase it, or maybe after a few weeks I’ll get bored and move on. However, right now, it makes sense.
Anyways.. A big “Hello!” to all those in the Tumblr universe.. I will be browsing all your pages soon.
